The Haflinger is a breed of horse that originated in the village of Hafling in South Tyrol and is known for its frugality.
This means that it does not have high demands for care and feeding. Haflingers were often used as draught and pack horses in the mountains
Features:
It is a workmanlike horse with great strength and stamina. They can stay outside virtually all winter and summer and require less feed than horses that are "high in blood. Haflingers have an intelligent, inquisitive and friendly nature. This makes the breed an ideal recreational horse. It is wonderful to ride a Haflinger through the woods. Dressage, jumping, vaulting, western and driving also go well with this animal.
The color of the medium-sized horse is always fox, all shades are allowed: from milk fox to cabbage fox, but with little white on the legs. Mane and tail should be blond or gray. The preferably double manes of haflingers are not cut or clipped.
