Silver Dapple or Taffy: horses with the 'silver gene'
Usually the word 'silver' is added to the base color (brown-silver, black-silver, etc). Occasionally a black-silver horse will be called "Silver-apple-black" or "Chocolat".
Features:
The silver color is fairly rare, yet it is found in quite a few breeds. The Rocky Mountain horse is known for its silver glow. It is also found in Shetlanders, Welsh ponies, French Comtois, Ardennes and the Icelandic. In contrast, it does not occur at all in Arabians and thoroughbreds.
Look-a-likes:
Especially for fans of the 'Silver Apple or Taffy' we have a beautiful silver key ring for equestrian in our range. If you like shiny and bling-bling then this is a good choice.
